It's Bridget, Bitch.
Hey, I'm Bridget but in the real world, I go by "B" and in girl world, probably some variations that will appear within these journals. These journals really are for YOU and to facilitate your use of SWEAR WORDS -- if you love them as much as me. If you don't, it can be a gag gift. Maybe you're just being nosey and checking out this page? That's okay too... IDGAF.
I am not a writer by trade so if you are looking for literary extravagance and perfect grammatical construction, this is NOT the place for you. If you just need to hop aboard the hot-mess express, welcome. I get exhausted looking through social media at everyone that appears to have their lives in order. Then, one miniscule thing in my life goes wrong and it seems like the end of the world. In all reality, we all got our shit going on and life will NEVER be perfect. I think that is okay. Life just needs to be good to us and for us... we're all just working our way through the human experience.
I would describe myself as a kind but honest person. I say 'but' because my honesty comes (sort of) from being an assertive female. I never do it to hurt anyone's feelings but I will share what is on my mind. If you know me, you know that you never have to guess what I am thinking -- especially if you have asked me.
I have been swearing since Pre-K... I guess that means I'm a professional! For a while, I thought maybe I shouldn't do it. I was led to believe that real women mind their manners and their language. That isn't true at all. You can be whatever type of woman or man you want -- regardless of the restrictions and rules society places on us. I know when to turn it off. Surprisingly, I rarely cuss at word unless I am in a casual conversation with a coworker friend. I think everyone should use common decency there. I do it only because it is casual language. Work is not casual for me, at least. If you got it like that, go for it. However, I will not be told by anyone how to act -- personally or professionally. As I have gotten older, I have realized that other people's opinions of me are none of my business. Then, I heard this comedian, Vir Das, say, "Your talent belongs to you but your reputation belongs to others."
Fuck, Vir. That's deep... and so true.
So on that note, that is really enough about me. This journal is for you!
